It's some kinda late, anyway, Happy Father's Day to all dads out there.
Today we sought what my mum promised us a week ago for our 2009 Father's Day celebration - North Park. But before we could arrive there, there were many trials we had to fight our way through. We had to go to Church (which is hardly a trial and we love doing it anyway.), we had to walk a couple of mall blocks, we had to purchase audio equipment (an earphone set exactly), and just then did we reach the fabled restaurant.
Okay, so maybe not fabled. But it's good eats I tell you. Good eats.

The front of the restaurant. This particular North Park is located at the recently established Glorietta 5 at Makati. You won't miss it. Anyway, I just have to mention this: There are a lot of young, good, smooth broads out there in Makati if you know what I mean. You could count on that. So, the inside interior was nice: Cold air, yellow lights and all. Their service crew is fantastic. No flaw whatsoever. Fast and quick. I don't know much about fine dining but these North Park (G5 NP specifically) crewmen and women are my best yet. I give them 5/5. I mean, I was surprised. Let me chatter about them first. They're all smiles, they're friendly, they're cool. We even got to know the wonderful lady assigned to our table. I reckon her name was Diane. She was like, trained to serve. We've ate at some fine restaurants before, but this is the first time that a crew genuinely asked us if we're satisfied and if we still need anything. The word is "genuine". You ever get that feeling when you're dining. a crew comes up to you and asks you if you're satisfied and it sounds like they're just saying that because it's written on their job description? Well, this was different. Good men and women at North Park G5 Makati. We even got free lemonade (which was indescribable).

This is their version of "a menu and a placemat in one". You'll see it immediately right after you get a table. Kind of creative, but it looks out of place. I think the menu in leather is cheaper in terms of operation costs. This you gotta change after every customer(s) finishes their table. Like, whatever. You get the point.

Finally, our meal. We ordered a hefty four, five viands for this occasion. My mum's hand is usually light on money (meaning, she spends like crazy) every time very special occasions come up. North Park's supposed to be a Chinese restaurant but I didn't see no one using chopsticks. All are using spoons and forks. Weird. The neighboring Chinese restaurant Luk Yuen, a notch lower than of North Park in terms of stars, is serving chopsticks. What the hell. I was telling my brother that the owner of North Park is a Korean, North being the first name and Park being the last. Funny eh? Kidding.
Anyway, the food here's awesome. Can't ask for more except for cola (if you'll observe carefully the picture above, we only drank water. No sodas whatsoever. My father is now a diabetic. That's why.). Plus, you get a free kettle of tea. The noodles were great, the tofu, the fish, the pork, even the fried rice. I just wish my girlfriend was there. She was the only one missing. Food's really great. Can't say nothing no more.
So what's it for North Park? If I experience something better than North Park (say, real fine dining), I'd say 4/5. But because I've yet to experience something better, I'd give North Park G5 Makati a 10/10. Nothing beats a combination of an efficient and genuinely friendly crewpeople, good looking diners, wonderful interior, and fine food. Mark that.
'Till my next installment.
