Opinions: Noynoy Aquino Heads For 2010 Elections

Makati, Philippines - Sen. Noynoy Aquino announced at 8am this morning that he is accepting the challenge and that he is going to run for the 2010 Presidential Elections.

It is to be noted that Sen. Aquino remained true to his promise - that he will announce a go or a no on the 40th day of the death of his mother, our beloved Cory Aquino.

Something in his remarks made me wonder though. If I remember it correctly, he said something like "I would hopefully remain true and serve the Filipino people." I wish I could remember it in verbatim for more precision. Question is: Why would he say the word "hopefully" in his announcement? It's understandable that flesh is weak and people get corrupted over time, but Noynoy should resist those. He's everything the nation is thinking he is - an Aquino. An Aquino that would bring salvation to this land.

Okay. Now that he's announced his bid, let's see him run. I hope he'll make good platforms.
